Kon Asa Makapabor, Adto Sila

There are friends who want to go with you because they believe in your cause, or perhaps in your ideals.
However, when the cause is already shaky, they don’t tend to lift a finger anymore.
Ang nakapait man god, kon makapabor ning mga tawhana, diha lamang sila. Kon di sila makapabor, mobiya lamang sila.
These are the type of people nga akong tawagon nga balimbing.
What else could I call them? Fair-weather friends?
I’ve come across these types of people. I believe I should not be cultivating any kind of friendship with these people. They don’t deserve to be called special.
When they profess true friendship, I should not expect much from friends. Like what the wisdom of my parents tells me: “Do not trust your friends.” Or, I should say, “Do not trust your friends.”
Finding your true friends is hard nowadays. As for me, this world is now so cruel that we do not even know how to spot true and valuable friendships.
It is just so unfortunate though that I learned my lesson too late. However, late as it may seem, at least I still learned my lesson.
I am still young. I can still give more. I still have more time to think for the better, and go for the better of things.
